Ramanie Samaratunge is an associate professor in the Department of Management.
Her areas of expertise are public management in developing countries (mainly South Asia), public governance, cross-cultural management and Asian immigrants in Australia. She has won many competitive grants to undertake research in these areas and have published widely in top journals such as Asian Ethnicity, International Journal of Intercultural Relations, Journal of South Asia, Journal of Business Ethics and Journal of Contemporary Asia. Ramanie has supervised a number of successful PhD theses related to South Asia in her career.
She is influential in initiating a valuable partnership between Monash University and the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) in Sri Lanka. Under her leadership, these two organisations have successfully conducted a number of AusAID-funded training programs and research projects in Sri Lanka 2010-13.
