Dr Leona Wiegmann is a Senior Lecturer of Accounting at Monash Business School. Her research focuses on the use of accounting information and the role of management accountants in management accounting practices, especially forecasting.
In light of the increasing digitalisation of our society, Leona is particularly interested in the effects of new technologies on management accounting practices and the increasing use of quantifications in our society.
In her research, she has explored the development processes of global forecasting systems, the effects of algorithm-based forecasts on corporate control, or the relevance of management accountants’ self-presentation in the discussion of forecast numbers.
Leona’s work has been published in book chapters, professional journals and leading international peer-reviewed journals such as Contemporary Accounting Research.
