Martijn’s interest areas lie in organisational behaviour, groups, teams, subgroups and conflicts. In his research, he links strategic issues and phenomena, organisational design, and organisational behaviour, such as teamwork in strategic alliances.
His current studies focus mostly on how group composition and organisational structures affect subgroup formation, group processes, and outcomes, examining this in the context of alliance multi-team systems; networks of interdependent teams across organisations. Martijn’s studies regularly cross levels of analysis as he nvestigates how teams contribute to organisational outcomes and vice versa. His research methods include field studies, cases and experiments.
