Dr Matthew Olckers completed his PhD at the Paris School of Economics after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Cape Town.
He was a visiting student researcher at UC Berkeley in 2018.
Matthew joined Monash University as research fellow in September 2019 to work with Professor Yves Zenou and Associate Professor Arthur Campbell on research projects related to social networks.
Matthew’s research interests include development economics and household finance. He is particularly interested in the intersection of economics and computer science, such as using mechanism design in practical applications or using alternative data sources to answer questions about poverty and development.
