Dr Paul Thambar is a senior lecturer with the Department of Accounting at Monash Business School.
Paul is an accounting academic with both industry and academic experience. Prior to joining Monash in Feb 2016, Paul was at UTS Business School from 2010 to 2015. At UTS Business School, Paul was involved in teaching management accounting and strategy subjects in postgraduate programs including MBA and Executive MBA programs. Paul was also intimately involved in the design and launch of a new MBA program in entrepreneurship and innovation (MBAe).
Prior to academic appointments, Paul worked in the financial services and healthcare industries in a range of senior financial and strategy roles. Paul has worked as a Financial Controller in Banking and in Healthcare and in Operations and Strategy roles in General Insurance and with IBM’s Global Business Services division.
Paul completed a PhD in Accounting in 2015 at UTS. Paul’s thesis topic was examining the role of management control systems in enabling strategy formation at the inter-firm level.
