Colin O’Hare is a Professor in the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics at Monash Business School.

Colin is also a qualified actuary holding fellowships of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK (FIA) and the Actuaries Institute of Australia (FIAA), with a decade’s experience of actuarial practice before a career in academia leading the development, delivery and accreditation of actuarial science in a university setting. He holds a number of overseas external examiner appointments and have consulted with universities in the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and China on the development of actuarial science programs.

Colin has been awarded the Times Higher Education Most Innovative Teacher of the Year finalist (2011) and was named one of the top 20 micro-innovators in Europe in 2012 (VISIR). His research interests are in the modelling and forecasting of mortality rates and the design and pricing of post retirement products.
