Vinod Mishra is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of Education in Department of Economics at Monash Business School. Vinod has a M.Phil. degree from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (Mumbai, India) and a PhD in Economics from Monash University.
Soon after receiving his PhD, Vinod joined the Department of Economics in the Monash Business School as a Lecturer in early 2008. He was promoted to senior lecture in 2011 and to Associate Professor in 2017.
Vinod’s research work broadly includes empirical research on various aspects of the Indian and Chinese economy. His areas of interest include development economics, labour economics, financial economics, monetary policy and energy and ecology related issues for emerging economics with particular focus on south Asia.
Some of his recent research focuses on the factors affecting the development of small and medium enterprises in Papua New Guinea, the convergence among energy markets in Australia, the sustainability and energy security in Pacific Island countries, factors affecting adoption of energy saving technology in Australia and the impact of automated trading on financial markets.
