From 1985-1991 Dr Gennadi Kazakevitch was a member of a think tank in Moscow working on Gorbachev’s economic reforms. He advised the post-communist Latvian Government on energy policy and, most recently, drafted submissions on economic policies to the Federal Senate’s Economic Committee.

As the former Deputy Head of Monash Business School’s Department of Economics, Dr Kazakevitch developed and coordinated a broad department coursework portfolio across all campuses and programs in Australia and internationally.

Gennadi’s research interests comprise market structures and competition in high technology industries, microeconomic reforms of public utilities, and comparative studies of economic reforms in the former communist countries.

His experience as an educationalist, in his capacity of the departmental Director of Education, includes developing and improving the curriculum, and coordinating department’s broad coursework portfolio across all campuses and programs.”
